Matting |
|
Matting is the 4 ply card stock
“border” that can go around your picture to do basically
two functions--First, to keep the glass of the framing
package off the surface of the art and second, to give
visual space around the subject to separate it from the
rest of the environment. Mats can also become decorative
with the use of color or shape as illustrated on this
page. We use only high quality alpha-cellulose or 100%
cotton rag content mats that will keep your art visually
fresh for years to come as well as protected from
“out-gassing” caused by acid content paper board.
